All this shit takes palce in the modern day so I fit just fine in your present or a decade or so in the future. You've got the when, now you need the where, yes? St. Louis is where it's at, baby! Why St. Louis? C'mon, why not St. Louis? It's a hustle, bustle city but, again, it's probably not the St. Louis you may be thinking of. It's changed alot since the vamps and other creatures moved in. Yeah, I said vampires. Not to mention shifters and God knows what else that lurks around the streets at night. I tend to avoid any and all contact from those fuckers if I can help it. Do you blame me? It's like---Huh? Sorry, I'm being told now to stick to the point. *sticks tongue out at peccavi*

It's a dark, corrupted city here and the only things that really talk is power and money. Cops work when they're paid to and they're usually in the pocket of whomever has the most bank and influence.

The upper side is called the Glamour Strip. It's the part of town where every thing is bright, sparkly and very, very green. Money is the only language up there, so if you don't speak it very well you'll find yourself thrown on the curb face down.

The lower side is the Underbelly. The darker, more goth scene for those so inclined. Who you know is what gives you power down here. If you can't handle that either, you're shit outta luck and will find yourself dead. Where am I, though? The Underbelly is my playground, baby. I meet the most interesting people and take them back to On the Lash, a club/hotel where I "entertain" them. Well, for the right price of course. *grins* Surprised? I was a scrawny sixteen year old in desperate need of escape and love, but now....let's just say that "if I knew then what I know now" has a whole new meaning for me. I didn't want this, not really and I still don't.

Enter Ren Halenfield. Rich, charming and my...caretaker. Oh, but so much more than that. He's my lover, my pimp, my friend on occasion, my abuser on almost any occasion. He owns me, he uses me, I'm his whore and yet...

And yet I love him so damned much. He seduced me, brought me down into a hold so deep that I can't climb out. I'm his, completely...utterly.

His partner in crime -- among other things -- is Mannix Keenan. A rather sick fuck who works side by side with Ren in all their businesses scattered around the city. You'll find Ren in the Underbelly and Mannix is usually more of the Glamour type. Two opposites in everything, yet they were together in some way or another before I even met Ren. Between them and the big wig vamp, Selene, they own the town. Mannix mostly owns clubs and a few resturants in the city, but still deals with the "oldest profession" like Ren.

I've been with Ren for five years now, although it took 2 years for him to finally show me who he was. He's all I've ever known and all I'll ever know. Yet, until recently, I've been tempted to question it. No longer truly satisfied to accept what was given to me. That's where David comes in. And who, pray tell, is David you ask? What I am to Ren, David is to Mannix. He has something about him that draws me in, like a need I'm craving but just can't pinpoint what it is. My tale starts with that night where a seeming stranger ends up being more than he seems. I'm tempted but I know he hides more than I do, and, trust me, that's saying alot. David is still a mystery to me, but he's one pandora's box I wouldn't mind opening.
